12-year-old girl kills 9-year-old brother in the night, then wakes up parents: ‘I stabbed him’

A 12-year-old girl was arrested for stabbing her 9-year-old brother to death while his parents were sleeping in their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The young girl, now detained in a juvenile facility, went to wake her mother and father after committing the murder and confessed to stabbing the child to death. The child was rushed to hospital, where he died despite attempts to save his life.

The stabbing was reported just before midnight Thursday at a residence in the St. Thomas Square community south of downtown Tulsa. The 9-year-old boy underwent surgery before succumbing to his injuries around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, local police said. It is still unknown what motivated the little girl to kill her brother.
